Our moss mural wall project returned for it's second year. We completed four walls this year (with one mural counting as two because of its size – this is the Dungarvan wall) in Portlaw, Dungarvan and Ardmore. In Portlaw we collaborated with the Portlaw Task Force and the Portlaw Community Enhancement Committee on a mural that celebrates the heritage and Portlaw’s ties to the land and water which supported Sustainable Development Goals 9, 14 and 15. In Dungarvan we collaborated with Dungarvan Local Authority on a mural that celebrates the health and well-being of the community through its commitment to the Greenway, parks and recreation areas which supported Sustainable Development Goals 3 and 15. In Ardmore we collaborated with Ardmore Tidy Towns, St. Declan’s National School (Ardmore) and Quinn's Foodstore on a mural that celebrates Ardmore’s commitment to education which supports Sustainable Development Goal 4. In all locations we We continue to have a strong public response to this project. In particular, Portlaw held a community reception on 8th Oct to launch the mural. It was also covered by the Waterford News & Star newspaper. If you would like to be involved in the coming year please contact sarah@sliwaterford.ie.
