Our sustainable street art project! This environmental education and visual arts collaboration is centred around the Sustainable Development Goals. We are using sustainable and earth friendly materials to depict each of the 17 goals throughout county #Waterford. This year we completed three walls in Ballymacarbry, Cappoquin and Lismore.
In Ballymacarbry we collaborated with Ballymacarbry Tidy Towns and Derek Whelan Car Sales on Goal 15 which has special importance to the people of this area. It's all about protecting and restoring life on the planet Earth we call home. It aims to combat desertification, sustainably manage forests and halt the loss of biodiversity and land degradation.
In Cappoquin we collaborated with Affane Cappoquin Gaa Club to work on a mural that represents #Goal6 Clean Water and Sanitation. This has a special connection to this area due it wetlands, waterways and willows. 1 in 3 people live without sanitation which causes unnecessary illness and death, Goal 6 aims to end this.
In Lismore we collaborated with Lismore Tidy Towns and Rose's West End Bar on a mural that celebrates Lismore’s dedication to protecting our world through different actions which supported Sustainable Development Goal 13 Climate Action.
